Get clear

“Tell me more about what you do,” she said.

“People come to me for nutrition accountability, but they’re really coming to me for some other reason,” I said.

This weekend I met a new friend at a birthday party. As soon as she walked in the door, I thought two things: 1) I want to hold her baby and 2) I think I like her already. Sometimes you just know you’re going to be friends!

She must’ve thought she gave me permission to play the game “21 Questions” because I kept asking so many questions. I found her occupation and interests fascinating. Then she asked me what I did.
I just came from facilitating another Self-Love Conversations talk, so I told her about that. Then I told her that I’m not just a dietitian. I’m a healer and a revealer. “People come to me for nutrition accountability, but they’re really coming to me for some other reason.

Someone’s problem isn’t that they are eating too much sugar. Their problem isn’t that they don’t exercise enough. And their problem isn’t that they eat too much takeout or eat all their calories at night.”

Those are all symptoms. And you can’t just fix your terrible eating with a meal plan, because it doesn’t heal the root of the issue. If you’ve been cycling with “good and bad eating” and “up and down weight” for years, you definitely don’t need to order up a meal plan right away. You need to know the real problem.

For a long time, the loudest voice in our culture told us, “lose 30 pounds and then you will feel good!” or “Start eating the ‘ABCXYZ’ way, and you’ll feel good.”

Do not pass GO. Do not collect your $200. You cannot “win” by cheating. And cheating is going from miserable to “I’m gonna fix this with my new habits or with my new DVD program.”

What’s the opposite of cheating yourself? How about TRUTH? HONESTY? INTEGRITY? CLARITY? Get clear on why you’re not taking care of yourself. Clue: It has more to do with fear of being successful, fear of being seen, and fear of showing up for your life.
TODAY, be willing to see what the root of the issue is. Be willing to show up for your life.
I help a lot of people with this. If you need help, please send a message and ask.

SHINE ON,
